Insist and Persist. The story of KFC
Kentuckey Chicken Fried or KFC, is one of the most famous restaurant franchise not only in the U.S but also around the world. Famous by its unmistakable flavor and the photo of Colonel Harland Sanders, it is the topic that today we are concerned about, in our fourth and unfortunately last chapter of INTERCULTURALITY.
First restaurant:
In 1929, being 40 years old Harald Sanders opened a humble restaurant in a gas station called Sanders cafe in Corbin State of Kentucky, by that time he just had a pan to cook the chicken, so it took too long to be ready. By 1939 he bought a presure fryer, making easier and faster the preparation of the chicken.
Finally by 1940 Sanders created and patented his own chicken receipe calling it the original receipe.
KFC was born as a franchise:
Around 1950, Sanders began to expand his business now named Kentucky Chicken Fried, but was not until 1952 that Sanders opened the first KFC restaurant in UTHA. Subsequently expanding KFC to many other states in The U.S
Harland Sanders sold the brand by a local investor in 1956 for two million dollars and a life salary of fourty thousand dollars for becoming himself in embassador of the brand and making public appearances.
Nowadays, KFC belongs to PepsiCo since 1986. The brand was sold to PepsiCo for 840 million dollars.
As always here comes a brief reflection, I did love researched about KFC. When it comes to business great men Harland Sanders could be the best since he spent a lifetime struggling to succeed, taking into account he began at his forties. It is the real and unique meaning of insist and persist, He did never give up, no matter what.
Now, I am affraid I get to say goodbye everybody, I get to leave you all behind for this time until we will see again.
